Arranging an assessment
Lip assessment takes place in the outpatient clinic of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital, 301 Huafu Avenue North Section, Jiulongpo District, Chongqing. Call the outpatient line, or use the channel described on the appointments page, and say that you are asking about the lips so that the right clinic time is booked.
What the consultation examines
The assessment looks at the lip at rest, on smiling and while speaking, at the amount of vermilion showing, at the length of the upper lip from the base of the nose to the border, at the roll of the border and at the symmetry between the two sides. It also looks at the teeth, the smile and the position of the chin, because those decide how much of the lip is visible and are a common reason a lip reads as small. Previous injectable treatment is recorded with dates and substances. You should leave knowing which change is present, whether an injection reaches it, and what the alternatives are.
What to bring
Bring a list of your medication, including anything that affects clotting, and any record of previous injectable treatment. Tell the team about any history of cold sores, because an injection can reactivate them, and about any delayed reaction to an injected material. Mention any dental treatment planned in the coming weeks, and any bleeding disorder, and whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
The review visit
A review at about two to four weeks is part of the plan rather than an extra appointment. It is when the lip is judged with the swelling gone, when a small correction can be made, and when the interval to any further treatment is estimated from your own response. It is also the point at which a decision to stop, or to have less next time, can be taken honestly.
Questions without booking
Questions about the content of this site, including any correction you believe should be made to it, are welcome through the hospital administration line. Clinical questions about your own case are best answered at an assessment, and we will say so rather than guess.
